SUMMARY STATEMENT:
The City has applied for and received Federal funding, through ITD and the Local Highway Technical Assistance Council
(LHTAC), for significant improvements to Boydstun Street. The total cost of the road improvements is $1,856,048; a local match of $136,234 is required. The proposed FY03 Streets Department
budget includes the City’s match. Construction is anticipated in FY06.
Prior to the road construction, the existing 6" waterline along Boydstun Street will be replaced with a new 12"
waterline. This project is identified as a priority improvement in the Water System Master Plan, 2001 Revision. The proposed FY03 Water Fund budget includes $35,000 for design. The total
cost of the waterline replacement is estimated to be $310,000. The waterline replacement is currently scheduled for FY04.
The attached State/Local Agreement and Resolution 02-20 are
required by ITD to begin planning for the project. Preliminary design will begin in FY03. ITD requires a ‘deposit’ of $5,000 at the time the State/Local Agreement is signed.
RECOMMENDED
ACTION:
Adopt Resolution 02-20, authorize the Mayor to sign the State/Local Agreement, and provide a $5,000 deposit to ITD.
