RESOLUTION 2019-56
A RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF TRUCKEE
ADOPTING REVISED RECREATION FACILITY MITIGATION FEES AND RESCINDNG FEES
PREVIOUSLY ADOPTED IN RESOLUTION 2018-56
WHEREAS; the Truckee Donner Recreation and Park District, hereinafter the "District",
is the local government entity responsible for providing recreation and park facilities within the
Town of Truckee; and
WHEREAS; the Town Council pursuant to California Government Code Section 66000
et seq. may impose a fee as a condition of approval of a development project to defray all or a
portion of the cost of public facilities related to the development project, including facilities for
special districts that provide services within the Town of Truckee; and
WHEREAS; the Town Council on August 14, 2018 adopted Resolution 2018-56
imposing a mitigation fee for recreational facilities; and
WHEREAS; the District Board of Directors on August 22, 2019 adopted Resolution
2019-279 requesting the Town Council to adopt and implement an increase in the mitigation fee
for recreational facilities; and
WHEREAS; the Town Council met on the matter on September 24, 2019 and accepted
oral and written comments from the public and interested parties and considered such comments
before taking action.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, the Town Council of the Town of Truckee
adopts the following recreation facility mitigation fees on behalf of the Truckee-Donner Recreation
and Park District:
Housing Type Fee effective November 25 2019
Single-Family Housing $1.99 per square foot
Multi-Family Housing $2.85 per square foot
Single-Family housing includes detached units, attached units (townhome), secondary
residential units and mobile homes.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, the Town Council of the Town of Truckee hereby rescinds the
recreation facility mitigation fees adopted by Town Council Resolution 2018-56.
The foregoing resolution was introduced by Council Member Abrams, seconded by
Vice Mayor Polivy, at a regular meeting of the Truckee Town Council, held on the 24th day
of September, 2019 and adopted by the following vote:
AYES: Council Member Abrams, Vice Mayor Polivy, Council Members Klovstad,
Council Member Commendatore, and Mayor Tirman.
NOES: none.
ABSENT: none.
