SUMMARY STATEMENT: Ponderosa State Park
has grant funding for a sewer lift station upgrade. The cost to upgrade the station to City standards exceeds the grant amount. The Sewer District is willing to complete the upgrade
and take over operation of all the Park’s lift stations, but requires the City’s consent. In conjunction with the upgrade, the Sewer District would expand their existing boundaries
to include all of the State Park and adjacent private lines. The consensus of staff, to include Vern Brewer, is that this proposal is in the best interest of the City.
RECOMMENDED
ACTION: Approve the proposal and consent to the expansion of the PLRWSD boundary, direct staff to prepare any necessary documentation and authorize the Mayor to sign.
