A RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF TRUCKEE
ESTABLISHING RESIDENTIAL AND COMMERCIAL SOLID WASTE RATES,
PARCEL CHARGES AND DIRECTIONS TO NEVADA COUNTY AUDITOR FOR
COLLECTION OF RESIDENTIAL PARCEL CHARGES IN CSA 7, TAX AREA 03
WHEREAS, the Town of Truckee is responsible for administration of the Solid Waste
Franchise Agreement; and
WHEREAS, as part of the ongoing process for administration of the Solid Waste
Franchise Agreement it is necessary to hold a public hearing and establish rates for residential
and commercial solid waste services; and
WHEREAS, notice of public hearing has been provided, oral and written presentations
made and received, and the required public hearing regarding the cost of providing solid waste
services has been held; and
WHEREAS, the Town Council approves the rate schedules for residential and
commercial solid waste service rates attached hereto; and
WHEREAS, Nevada County at the request of the Town of Truckee has been collecting
residential solid waste parcel charges to fund the provision of solid waste services in the Town
of Truckee; and
WHEREAS, the Town Council has conducted a public hearing and set the parcel charge
for residential solid waste services at $391.22 per year; and
WHEREAS, in the event of a timeshare where a property is held by multiple owners the
following rates shall apply: 2 owners per parcel $195.61; 3 owners per parcel $130.40; 17
owners per parcel $23.01 billed per owner; 34 owners per parcel billed $11.50 per owner; 51
owners per parcel billed $7.67 per owner.
WHEREAS, The Town of Truckee is requesting the Nevada County Auditor to collect
parcel charges for residential solid waste services from approximately 12,498 parcels; and
WHEREAS, the Town Council has authorized the Nevada County Auditor to collect
parcel charges for solid waste services;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF
TRUCKEE,
That it is requested that the Nevada County Auditor place a $391.22 per parcel charge for solid
waste services and in the case of timeshares where a property is held by multiple owners the
Nevada County Auditor is requested to place the following rates on the tax rolls for parcels in
Tax Area 03, 2 owners per parcel $195.61; 3 owners per parcel $130.40; 17 owners per parcel
$23.01 billed per owner; 34 owners per parcel billed $11.50 per owner; 51 owners per parcel
billed $7.67 per owner.
The foregoing Resolution was introduced by Council Member Abrams, seconded
by Council Member Commendatore, at a Regular Meeting of the Truckee Town Council,
held on the 23rd day of June, 2020 and adopted by the following vote:
AYES: Council Member Abrams, Council Member Commendatore, Vice Mayor
Klovstad, and Mayor Polivy.
NOES: none.
ABSENT: Council Member Tirman.
