SUMMARY STATEMENT:
When Council adopted the personnel policy manual there were a number of editorial and minor changes that staff needed to make. The attached memo outlines the changes. Following adoption,
there were comments regarding the wording and intent regarding the Council travel reimbursement section. The memo has two options for Council decision prior to publishing the final
draft. In addition, the appendix on pay system needs to be approved, a draft is attached for Council review. This agenda bill was prepared prior to receipt of the BDPA final report,
so Council has not had the opportunity to review the data used to compile the salary schedule. Please note that approving the pay system appendix does not include approving the salary
schedule or implementation of the BDPA recommendation. It is staff’s belief that Council endorses the pay system structure as BDPA presented it, and therefore drafted the appendix.
Council will be provided with the BDPA final report and asked for a decision on implementation as a separate action item.
RECOMMENDED ACTION: Approve the changes and appendices
to the Personnel Policy Manual.
