ARY STATEMENT:
In 2001, the City of McCall was recognized as a Tree City USA. The National Arbor Day Foundation requires that each city reapply each year to maintain that designation,
to insure that cities continue efforts related to quality urban forestry practices. The City of McCall meets the requirements for recertification for 2002. In addition, the City of
McCall qualifies for a Tree City “Growth Award” which is based on urban forestry practices that exceed the minimum standards.
Because of the extraordinary efforts of the Golf Course
Superintendent and crew, and the Parks Supervisor and crew, the City of McCall will receive a Growth Award for 2002 from the National Arbor Day Foundation.
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Approve
the submission of Tree City recertification and Growth Award applications, and authorize the Mayor to sign.
