SUMMARY STATEMENT:
The police department is applying for two Office of Highway Safety grants. The combined amount requested is $35,000. The City’s match will total $11,700, which will be covered by
officer straight time wages. These grants will, if awarded, be for the period 10/01/02 through 09/30/03.
The preliminary grant applications will be submitted immediately. The Office
of Highway Safety Grants Officer will review our applications and determine which amounts will be submitted under which Sections and whether the requests come under the grant guidelines.
RECOM
MENDED ACTION: Council to authorize the police department to submit the preliminary applications.
