SUMMARY STATEMENT:
City staff are preparing a grant application which would allow for the purchase and installation of a document imaging system, document retrieval
system, and additional network infrastructure. The purpose of the project is to improve public access to public documents, geographic information, and library holdings, increase staff
efficiency, and increase work space by reducing storage of paper documents. (see photo of City Hall basement and current storage limitations.)
Grant funding would pay for hardware and
software, personnel, and project evaluation.
City in-kind would include staff time, equipment, and network infrastructure.
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Approve submission of grant application,
and authorize the Mayor to sign.
