I question how the 10%STIR transient occupancy tax paid to the Town is being used.This adds up to literally millions of dollars!
Where is the enforcement of the rules laid out on every property, STIR or full timers, when green or recycling bins are requested?
The rules state the bin cannot be put out'til 6:00am on trash day,yet STRs leave them out DAYS in advance of trash day, inviting
wildlife into neighborhoods. Where is the enforcement of the 10:00 pm quiet time?STIR transient occupancy tax pays far more than
what is needed to actually hire personnel to enforce town-imposed regulation and levy fines to those owners who allow rules/laws
to be broken on their property.Any regulation is only as good as its level of enforcement. STRs are businesses which generate gross
evidence of business activities--excess noise, lights,trash--in residential neighborhoods. How about imposing a fee schedule for
the business to pay to each of their neighbors affected by the noxious activity created by their business.
