The great deal of work put into the draft ordinance is evident. I have only a couple of important points to make: 1. STR's fall into two
categories:owner-occupied (renting rooms),and non-owner-occupied (renting whole homes).The draft ordinance puts the same
responsibilities on both STIR categories. Owner-occupied homes have a person on-site for contact, provide their own policing,
provide their own garbage services, monitor the number of guests, etc. The new ordinance should address each of these STIR
categories differently, specifying the needs and requirements of each group separately. 2.Associated with the comment above,
owner-occupied STR's do not need, nor require, a bear box. Many owner-occupied STR's do great managing their own garbage and
containers in their garage or other appropriate spaces. Requiring bear boxes for all STR's is a nuisance cost, unnecessary,and
avoidable-especially for owner-occupied STR's.Thank you, Brian
