I am a property owner at Tahoe Donner in Truckee. I certainly understand the need for the type of ordinance in regard to short-term
rentals. However one concern is the"one-size fits all" approach of the draft ordinance. On one end of the spectrum you have
properties actively marketed/advertised and used for short-term rentals for a majority of the year.. On the other hand you have
properties that might be rented to family/friends for just a few days per year. It seems that the Town should consider scaling certain
provisions(especially the certificate registration fee)to various categories of use-for example based on the number of days per
year a property is rented for short-term rental use. Why should someone who rents out there unit for a few days per year be treated
the same as someone who rents out their unit for all or the majority of a year.
