If we're trying to curtail street parking or parties,then why should only STIR homes be affected by these regulations?The owners of the house across the street from me had a large party with 8 cars,6 of which were parked in the street-- this nuisance party would still happen under these new rules,since these regulations don't apply to anyone other than registered STRs.That strikes me as punitive towards STRs, rather than trying to address the actual problem of noise and parties.Additionally, the rule for having larger bear boxes also seems unfair.We bought our house in 2018,and spent almost$2k installing a 1-can bear box.We've never had garbage issues,and our house is small;we've only ever rented to one family at a time,and don't need a larger bear box. It's wasteful (and expensive)to force us to rip out our existing bear box and install a new(unnecessarily larger)one. Lastly, this ordinance seems to paint all STRs with the same brush--large 15-person party houses with different renters every week face the same regulations as small single family vacation homes with the occasional renters over the holidays. Making it so difficult for the smaller owner/renter hybrid homes to comply is going to force us to stop renting.This will lower the supply of STRs available, and encourage more people to go into full-time STIR party-house mode in order to be profitable and take advantage of the increased prices they can charge based on reduced supply.
