As a local resident in Tahoe Donner, I strongly support the draft Truckee STIR ordinance.This ordinance addresses many of the issues
we have been dealing with year after year--issues that have gotten worse with the COVID pandemic. We deal with these same
issues every summer, including noise, large groups parking in the street because there is not enough space in the driving, and trash
in our yards and streets because renters don't know to use bear boxes. We need noise,occupancy,and parking limits to control
these problems.The response requirement and enforcement provisions are critical, because many STIR owners are not locals and do
not know about the nuisances caused by their renters. STIR owners need to screen their renters and ensure they are following the
rules.This ordinance strikes a balance between their rights and responsible STIR operators and will help keep our mountain town a
wonderful and peaceful place to live.
