I believe that a mechanism should be put into place that allows Truckee PD to ticket/fine the people who are violating the rules like
excessive noise,garbage, obnoxious behavior. I think that should apply to anyone who is staying there..... STRs, renters,
homeowners. What stops me from speeding is the fear of getting a ticket. If I could rent a car and speed all I want because the rental
agency got the ticket I could speed with no consequences. That's what's happening here.There are no consequences for people who
don't abide by the rules. If a homeowner rents to a STIR through Airbnb or VRBO those entities do not allow the homeowners any
contact with the renter so there is no way to filter partiers,you can't collect a deposit so that you can fine them. You can't even have
them sign a contract. It would be fantastic if the town of Truckee could form a local VRBO type service specific to Truckee. We could
get picture ID's of the renters and collect a deposit. Between that and the police being able to ticket I think that would take care of
most of the problems.Thank you
