My wife and I own a home on Donner lake.We are so encouraged by your list of changes and regulations to be put in place for the
STRs in our town.Truckee has historically been dismissive of local home owners concerns and wellbeing and seemingly puts the
needs of second home owners and the dollars that they create (or do they?) before the people that create this thriving community
and make it what it is. During the initial Covid lockdown period our nextdoor neighbor(a Bay Area resident with a STIR as his second
home) continued to rent his house to multiple groups of people on vacation. I contacted the town of Truckee with my concern and
was told it would be looked in to. I never got a follow up or heard anything else about it.What makes this town great is not the
access to short term rentals for vacationers. I understand that tourism is an important part of our economy but cannot stress
enough my sadness and disbelief that our lovely town is falling prey to the nationwide housing shortage.The people who plow the
roads,serve food in restaurants,teach the children,respond to medical calls and take care of the sick and injured should be the
priority.The business owners, public servants and their families should not be scrounging for housing or moving to Reno because
they can't find any. Please, please, please go through with these changes. Make it as hard as possible for second home owners to
rent their properties short term.Tax them more heavily. Put in place more restrictions. Let's all but force them to rent their homes
to locals long term whenever they can.Thank you for all you're doing.These changes have been needed for quite some time and
