As a full time resident of Truckee for the last 8 years, I do not believe this kind of regulation within the ordinance is in accordance with what makes Truckee a wonderful place to live and visit. As a resident,if want to throw a small celebration (once COVID is no longer an issue),it is unreasonable to assume that residents should have to obtain permits to have small gatherings in their own homes, should the'celebration'go on past 10pm. I support this noise restriction as it pertains to STIR,as those people are guests in our town and are making the choice to come here to visit.Along with that choice are certain restrictions by which they will have to abide. I do not support that as part of this STIR ordinance you are proposing adding a noise ordinance to non-STRs,that feels nontransparent as though you are attempting to sneak it through as a part of this larger ordinance. I certainly understand that some locals take advantage and presumably throw lout and ruckus parties, however, those instances should be handled on a one-by-one basis, and not force the entire community of Truckee to have to abide by a town-wide noise ordinance. I do want to be worried when I have friends over on a weekend evening, that our laughter and music(non-amplified)will cause us to receive a fine from the town. That is unreasonable. Please revise the noise ordinance section to apply only to STRs.Thank you. lf your comment exceeds 2000 characters, please use the attachment function below to attach your comment in a separate document. Attachment Please ensure that you enter your email address in the box below and click the SUBMIT button to receive a copy of your submitted responses for Public Comment. 1
