I live in Sacramento and during the ski season I come to Truckee every week for 1,2,or 3 days depending on the weather. I monitor the weather daily and if it is clear, I go skiing.Since mountain weather changes often,many times I will only stay for one night because I want to avoid having to put chains on my car which can turn a 2 hr trip into a 5 hr trip due to a storm.Although I am only in Truckee for one night, I want you to know that I spend money in town eating dinner at Morgan's, buying supplies at Rite Aide and various ski shops,sleeping at Airbnb, buying coffee at Coffeebar,eating breakfast at Marty's,and of course getting gas at local gas stations. If you eliminate the 1 night stays,then I would just come up for a day and then go home that afternoon and not spend any money in Truckee.Therefore,the town would lose all the revenue from visitors like myself who just come up for very short 1 night stays, spend money and then quietly return home. In my opinion,it does not seem like a good idea for me or the town.
