It is being snuck into effect without proper time to review, does not address the issues caused by ALL users of Truckee's resources, discriminates against low income families,is biased, will cause home values to fall, and more that cannot fit in this comment box. First and least of which is that the comment period for such an impactful ordinance was only between 8/27 and 9/8, not enough time to properly collect feedback from ALL stakeholders in a community of 2nd home owners, in a pandemic, when there are active fires in the area. The 2nd is that any regulations should apply to residents,ST renters, seasonal renters, visitors, and 2nd homeowners. Needlessly dividing the groups causes further conflict, derision, and scapegoating. Implementing regulations on occupancy, parking, noise, garbage, fire safety, special events, and compliance fees needs to apply to ALL users of our fabulous city. One 24 hour period on my street will tell you that residents are not immune to violating noise ordinances, have trash issues, speed, park on the street, throw parties, etc. The 3rd reason is that the minimum two night stay discriminates against lower income individuals who may choose to use a local campground for the majority of their visit to the area and then rent a home for one night as a treat. I am from a middle class family who visited Truckee/Tahoe every summer for the majority of my childhood. This was the only way we could afford to visit. It would be a shame to price out lower income families. Fourth,an hour on forums like NextDoor/FB will tell you that the overwhelming majority of complaints come from a very small, vocal group. Those with neutral/positive experiences with STRs aren't going to proactively contact the Town council to speak out& they won't respond to this call for comment. Fifth, look what happened to home values in SLT when strict regulations went in. I have more complaints that won't fit here. lf your comment exceeds 2000 characters, please use the attachment function below to attach your comment in a separate document. Attachment i
