Having lived next to a short term rental, I would never want to live next to one again. Constant partying, multiple cars parked on
their lot and sometimes in the street blocking traffic,and not knowing who is there all the time are some of the reasons why short
term rentals should be limited or at minimum have consequences for violations. The owners are usually less than accommodating
and will not enforce any sort of rules unless it damages their property or affects their bottom line. We've had vacationers start a fire
in a crudely made fire ring 10 ft from national forest during red flag days. We've had vacationers leave trash and also try to dump
their trash into unsuspecting neighbors bear boxes.There needs to be regulations and consequences for these vacationers as well as
the owners of these short term rentals. Having an ordinance with teeth and a permit system will help curtail these problematic
rentals and allow full time residents an avenue to have these rentals come into compliance.
