Because it is imperative to preserve Truckee as a residential community,and these regulations will help to ensure that tourists and transients respect our values, rather than abusing them . Well-financed outsiders, and a few locals,will lobby to defeat or weaken the proposed program for their personal financial benefit. If the Truckee Town Council succumbs to this pressure, it will irreparably diminish our community.
