Looking at the TOT revenue in the last years, it's clear that we have too few hotels,and too many STRs. I have no problems with the original model of AirBnB:You go away for a month and are looking for some extra money on the side. But it has clearly gotten out of hand in Truckee,where some areas lose their residential feeling and instead have a touch of a Disneyland vacation town-and that's not what we are or want to be,correct?I read your proposal,and it's a step in the right direction,but it doesn't go far enough in my view. Here are my comments on it: - Bear boxes:that's so easy. It's literally one call. Make the deadline May 31st,at the latest.-Occupancy:two people per bedroom. Period. Kids under 5 exempt. -Limit on rental days in a year-like 50 rental days per year,or a maximum of one rental per 30 day period. Everything else is a hotel,and should abide by hotel regulations-including fire inspections,and zoning requirements.
