Name Stephanie Murray Email stephaniemurray714@gmail.com Phone (optional) Public Comment Hello, I am in favor of rules for occupancy,trash containment, noise,etc., but this ordinance must apply to all homeowners, homeowners that rent their home short-term AND long-term, i.e. ski leases and rentals for more than 31 days.To single out STRs is completely unfair;to assume that long-term rentals are not a problem and it's only the STRs, is a very biased approach to solve the "visitors" problem. In regards to the mandated 2 trash can per STIR: makes no sense for a 2 bedroom rental that doesn't accumulate enough trash that will fill 2 trash cans and have the 12-person home rental to have the same number of trash cans lacks insight. There are numerous condos that share a bear bin with another condo that hold max.2 trash cans; 1 for each condo. now the town wants a two bedroom condo to build an additional bear bin for 2 trash can that they will never fill? It is an expense that is unwarranted and not well thought out. Number of trash cans should be by bedroom count/occupancy. Does a small family household in Truckee require 2 garbage cans?Trash ordinance should be universal and not just for short term rentals. During Covid, every town and city is experiencing an increase in trash because we have so many more HOMEOWNERS eating takeout and cooking at home more and not to mention drinking more alcohol which certainly adds to the accumulation of trash.
