Name Lauren Bello Email laurenbello@gmail.com Phone (optional) Public Comment Dear Mayor,Vice Mayor and Town Council Members, In a town where the community strives to remain small,it is imperative to acknowledge and address all the pressures of growth,which often fall at your feet.There have been so many discussions about the role of STR's and housing.and it appears that STR's are here to stay. In that vein it's also imperative to address them fully for the purpose they serve,and what role they impact the community, beyond being a revenue stream and enable of tourist traffic. In truth, the majority of STR's are all located in residential areas, but perform functionally as hotels. Hotels have their own zoning, rules,and regulations,many of which exist to address the issues with short term visits. Hotel owners and proprietors are responsible for following these or risk losing their business. STR's have gone a long time without being responsible for addressing issues related to their existence,and their impact to their respective residential areas has not gone unnoticed.
