My wife and I run both a small shared space operation (not currently active)as well as a larger full home rental on Donner Lake. Please consider tiering the regulations per the number of guests an operation can accommodate. It makes no sense to require a shared space,single bed operation to have a 2 can contract for disposal-its a waste of money and completely unnecessary. In our operation that sleeps 8,it makes perfect sense,and we already have 2 cans. My biggest complaint is the proposal to limit guests to a 2-night minimum.There are many people who come for a single night either passing through,with limited time,or during snow storms when the freeway closes. In the latter example, hotels fill up extremely fast and this literally leaves people stranded on our roads and parking lots with nowhere to go except inexpensive STIR operations. Furthermore,a single night STIR has the lowest negative impact on the town-its quick,its few cars(rarely ever over 1), its quiet,and these guests are the most likely to grab a quick bite supporting our local restaurants. I terms of inspections, I am a fan of a fire inspection as well as an inspection to verify compliance with regulation-AS LONG AS THEIR PURVIEW REMAINS CLEAR and is limited to the regulations implemented in regard to STR's.
