To: The Honorable David Polivy and Town of Truckee Council Members:
I am writing on behalf of the Board of Directors of the Old Greenwood Master Association.
We appreciate your and your staffs efforts in considering and drafting a comprehensive Short Term Rental
(STR) ordinance proposal for the Town of Truckee.
Kindly, consider an exception to 'bear resistant trash enclosures' in communities like Old Greenwood. Old
Greenwood Design Guidelines do not permit 'bear boxes'. All private residences are required to have
either a 'lock off' or space available in their garage to store these items. An Old Greenwood Rule and
Regulation, adopted September 14, 2015, restricts placement of these items at the curb to the morning of
collection.

We have a strong HOA that monitors compliance with the Old Greenwood Rule regarding collection day
pick up of trash, recycling and compost containers.
