SUMMARY STATEMENT: DEQ allowed
the City to remove the second 450 hp pump from the J-Ditch Phase II project on a temporary basis. We must move forward to add the second pump, which will require work beyond the current
scope of JUB’s contract. The attached draft agreement would allow for that work to be completed, and has been submitted to the Attorney for review. It would be more cost effective
to install the second pump and test it concurrently with the work being done this spring. We would bring a second action to Council for the actual procurement of the pump, to include
a plan for funding the cost of that pump—which will be in the $150,000 range.
RECOMMENDED ACTION: Approve the draft agreement subject to City Attorney final review and authorize
the Mayor to sign.
