The City Council tasked the City Manager to find ways to foster “positive community relationships and citizen participation” as one of his goals. The community roundtable meeting highlighted the need or desire for enhanced communication, to include a community calendar and sharing of ongoing projects. At the last City Council meeting the Council expressed a desire to share the department head reports with the community, further illustrating the intent to share information. The Staff, in coordination with the Chamber of Commerce and McCall Improvement Committee has been working with Donna Glenn on a potential solution to a part of the communications shortfall. At the next community roundtable we want to tell the participants that we heard them and have dedicated resources to making a community calendar and database of projects a reality. We will provide access to the calendar and database on a trial basis for one year to determine if it warrants continued use. We will also conduct monthly brown bag lunch forums and quarterly community roundtables. RECOMMENDED ACTION: Endorse the City Manager’s use of his budget to fund a web based community calendar and projects list.
