A RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF TRUCKEE APPROVING
THE WILDLAND FIRE AGREEMENT AND AUTHORIZING THE TOWN MANAGER TO
JOINTLY EXECUTE THE AGREEMENT WITH THE CALIFORNIA DEPARTMENT OF
FORESTRY AND FIRE PROTECTION FOR WILDLAND FIRE PROTECTION WITH THE
FIRE CHIEF OF THE TRUCKEE FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT
WHEREAS, the Town of Truckee has responsibility for protection of life, property
and wildland areas within the Town boundaries; and
WHEREAS, the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection has the ability
to provide wildland fire protection for said area.
NOT THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Town Council for the Town of Truckee
that the Town Council hereby authorizes the Town Manager to jointly execute the agreement
with the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection for the fiscal year 2021-2022
with the Fire Chief of the Truckee Fire Protection District. This agreement provides for
Wildland Fire Protection during the State fiscal year 2021-2022 in the amount of$255,539.61.
The foregoing Resolution was introduced by Council Member Polivy, seconded by
Council Member Zabriskie, at a Regular Meeting of the Truckee Town Council, held on
the 25th day of May 2021, and adopted by the following vote:
AYES: Council Member Polivy, Council Member Zabriskie, Council Member
Romack, Vice Mayor Henderson, and Mayor Klovstad.
NOES: none.
ABSENT: none.
