Table M-1: Roadway Classification I'm curious when the traffic studies were done for these roadways. The disparity between the various roads, specifically Northwoods, Glenshire Drive, Hwy 89, Brockway and Pioneer seems inconsistent. It is already an encumbered intersection that is impacted by the traffic from Bridge street that has no traffic control. Given that a majority of the property at the eastern edge of the Railyard is dedicated to housing, I'm not sure people traveling from Glenshire or Olympic Heights to town will want to travel through the network of roads and stop signs, housing units, the balloon track, etc to get to Brockway or West River street when they can go from Truckee Way and Glenshire Drive. Other than a trip to the grocery store, if that comes to bear, I wonder if this will improve the roadway conditions. Type: (2) * General Comment Comment* Reference Number: (Example: CC -1.A) (7) Table M-2 I'm curious about the proposal to make a short roadway segment 4 lanes from Brockway to the Placer County line. Isn't this at odds with other policies that seek to avoid widening our roadways? It seems like this will cause more of a bottleneck as travelers try to volley to get ahead of each other as they approach the two lane portion of Hwy 267. Perhaps a roundabout at the Schaffer Mill/Airport Road intersection would make more sense. The multiple roads that converge on a difficult to see intersection, experiences near misses everyday. This must be addressed ASAP. One solution is to make the roads one way heading westbound. That way we could incorporate a bike lane and a sidewalk (possibly) to assist cars and others heading to town. Type: (?) * General Comment Comment* Reference Number: (Example: CC -1.A) (?) Trucking Glenshire Drive saw a dramatic uptick in large truck traffic this year, both for trucks going to the quarry and going to locations outside of town such as Juniper Hill and Martis Peak. Additionally, it should be noted and addressed that many trucks use Glenshire Drive from Hirschdale to avoid the scales or avoid traffic on 1-80. It would be great to coordinate with CHP and others to curtail this when it is happening. Type: (?) * General Comment Comment* Reference Number: (Example: CC -1.A) (?) Truckee Tahoe Airport District This paragraph should be modified to include verbiage about the large commercial jets that are using the airport and the increased frequency of jet and propeller travel that has impacted our community. Type: (7) * Goal Comment* Reference Number: (Example: CC -1.A) (?) M-1 How do we have a goal to lessen need for roadway expansion and a few pages back highlight the roadway expansion of an existing road? Seems inconsistent and in need of a revision. Either remove the widening of 267 or edit this goal. Type: (7) * Policy Comment* Reference Number: (Example: CC -1.A) (7) M-4.5 This policy has been modified from 2025 GP by 100%. Why did this change occur? It was 1000 average daily trips. I recommend returning it to what is was unless a clear and adequate explanation for the change can be provided.
