Call to Order:
Meeting was called to order at 12:02 pm by Chair Holly Stitt.
Approval of Agenda:
Heidi moved and Jim seconded approval of the agenda. Motion carried on a voice vote, with all
voting in favor.
Approval of Minutes:
Jim moved and Liz seconded approval of the January 15 minutes as published. Motion carried
on a voice vote with all voting in favor.
Financial Report:
Amy reported that $500 in available funds remain in the budget. Since the grant program has
been suspended, potential uses for funds include musician stipends for Porchfest, website
development or advertising, and art installations.
New Business:
Leann is working with artists to schedule installation for the two Sculpture on the Move pieces.
Soccer Dude is set to be installed June 25 at Ellis-Porter Riverside Parks and Dissident will be
installed the first week of June at 619 E Capitol Ave.
A Wix website template has been purchased by staff to promote local cultural arts events and
programs. The site will provide an events calendar, call to artists, announcements, and other
functions. The planned domain name is “jcmoarts.com”.
Old Business:
Amy provided a proposed budget for next fiscal year. Parks funding has been requested to
support website maintenance, advertising, events and supplies, and Sculpture on the Move.
Commission members then deliberated on reintroducing a City funded grant program next year.
Holly suggested setting up a special meeting in the next couple weeks to vote on a plan and
budget amount. A meeting date and time will be set up in the near future.
Other Business:
Leann provided an overview of virtual Porchfest that took place May 3.
Adjourn:
Next regular meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, June 16, at 12:00 pm. Jim moved and Liz
seconded adjournment of the meeting. Motion carried with all voting in favor. Meeting was
adjourned at 12:59 pm.
