Additionally, if we want the rail to be used for tourism transportation, but freight has priority, I wonder how realistic it is to share the tracks. 3.M1.A: Do you expect this to be a special stakeholder committee? Once developed, this should be shared regionally through CTA. 4.M1.B: add an action to support local business and agencies to adopt a work from home program for appropriate employees. The Town’s Friday program is a good example of VMT reduction. CTA Could help distribute this program/policy. 5.M1.F: Add ‘collaborate with utility providers to provide incentive/rebate for this purpose.’ This is really key to reducing energy usage in the evenings and at night when the energy production is dirty. 6.M2.H: Are these not part of the green business certification program? Perhaps a general goal should be added to update the green business program to align with the Town’s Climate Action Plan. Also, this needs an incentive (grants, loans, advertising, etc.). 7.M2.K - add VTT to the partner list. 8.M2M - add ‘work with Chamber of Commerce and Downtown Merchants Association.’ 9.M2.M and M2.N: Change the timeline to short term - we need the infrastructure before we get too many bikes. There are a lot of bikes already. 10.M3.3: work with Sierra Pacific Railroad to allow bikes on their trains and buses. Short term. 11.M3.J: change to short term - especially the NextBus technology. 12.M3.K: I thought this was already happening. Why is this time frame midterm? 13.M3.9 Low/No-Emissions Transit Fleets: Where is the action for this policy? It also needs a timeline. 14.On that note, add a policy and action to support other local agencies' conversion to renewable diesel for their fleets. We can provide free test tanks, supplier and agreement recommendations, and share our experiences. This can be shared via CTA. 15.M5.B: Add development of parking maximum standards instead of parking minimums. 16.M7.3: Why would we state that we need to support continued freight service? We have no authority over this anyway. Change ‘work with Amtrack and Caltrans,.....’ to “Develop plans with Amtrack to expand passenger service to Truckee to minimize vehicular traffic coming to and through Truckee via I80.
