Call to Order:
Meeting was called to order at 12:02 pm by Chair Holly Stitt.
Approval of Agenda:
Jim moved and Katy seconded approval of the agenda. Motion carried on a voice vote, with all
voting in favor.
Approval of Minutes:
Jim moved and Katy seconded approval of the February 23 minutes as published. Motion
carried on a voice vote with all voting in favor.
New Business:
No new business.
Old Business:
Amy reintroduced a mural code amendment drafted by Planning Department in October 2020.
Several code sections, including definitions, mural permit processing, mural design and
construction standards, and mural types prohibited had suggested changes. After a brief
discussion, commission members agreed to review individual draft amendments at next
meeting.
JC Parks Cultural Arts Specialist Report:
Leann reported that “Love Is the Answer” Sculpture on the Move piece will be installed May 18
at Ellis-Porter Riverside Park. Installation began April 13 on the Capitol Avenue mural.
Upcoming arts events include Porchfest JCMO on June 13 and Chalk Art Festival on
September 11.
