SUMMARY STATEMENT: Following the departure of Mr. Buss, the City Manager,
in consultation with the City Council, Chairperson of the Golf Advisory Committee,
and the Director of Golf and Parks Operations, made the decision to conduct the
search for a replacement without using the Golf Advisory Committee. Given the
extensive search process completed last year, and the continued interest of
several qualified applicants from that search it was determined that it would be
unnecessary to repeat such a time-consuming process. The City Manager and
the Director of Golf and Parks Operations have reviewed the qualifications of
several candidates from the previous search, as well as other interested parties
who expressed interest in the position. Based on that review, as well as
preliminary interviews, the following individuals were asked to appear before the
Council for final consideration: Kevin Burton, Boise, Allan Morrison, Payette, Ray
Center, McCall. They will provide brief presentations to the Council and answer
any questions the Council may have.
RECOMMENDED ACTION: Ask questions to determine the qualifications of the
applicants. Following the executive session, direct the City Manager to negotiate
an agreement with the new golf professional and authorize the Mayor to sign the
agreement.
