CALL TO ORDER
The September 3, 2010, City Council "Brown Bag" Meeting was convened at 12:05 P.M. by
Mayor John Landwehr.
ATTENDANCE
The following Council Members were present:
Present: Griffith, Harvey, Koon, Medin, Penfold, Pope, Scrivner, Struemph, and
Weber
Absent: Carroll
DISCUSSION OF AGENDA ITEMS
Announcement of Upcoming Meetings & Events:
September 13 Work Session: Mayor John Landwehr suggested hearing an update of the
Chamber Strategic Plan at the September 13 Work Session. Councilman Ron Medin asked
Councilman Jim Penfold if a proposed sidewalk ordinance could be ready for discussion by
that time as well. City Counselor Nathan Nickolaus stated it would be ready by then, and
City Administrator Steve Rasmussen stated that would also be placed on the September
13 agenda.
Hazardous Household Waste Event: Acting Community Development Director Charles
Lansford explained how citizens can take advantage of this event.
Appointments:
Ad Hoc Sign Review Committee: Mayor John Landwehr provided names of members which
can now be added to the list of appointees appearing on the agenda as it was first
published. He stated he has asked Councilman Eric Struemph to conduct the first meeting
for the purpose of electing officers. Councilman Struemph stated that first meeting will be
held Monday, September 13 at 11:30 A.M.
Bills Introduced:
2010 -59 (Contract for state grant): Councilman Jim Penfold stated he will ask for
suspension of the rules Monday night to accommodate the state's schedule.

Resolutions:
RS2010 -20 and RS2010 -21 (Sidewalks): Councilman Jim Penfold stated he will be
withdrawing these on Tuesday night.
Additions to agenda:
Bill 2010 -63 (contract for Conference Center): Councilman Jim Penfold moved to amend
the agenda to add Bill 2010 -63 under "Bills Introduced ", seconded by Councilman Dave
Griffith, and approved unanimously. The bill was distributed to the Mayor, Council, Staff,
and the media present.

The meeting adjourned at 12:30 P.M.
