HomeMy Public PortalAboutPublic Comment - Shari Brendlin Polovneff ello,
I am submitting my comments on the Town of Truckee General Plan. Specifically, my
comments are in regard to the Jibboom Street project.... A MEGA BUILDING IN HISTORICAL
DOWNTOWN TRUCKEE DOES NOT BELONG! 80+ units and 4 stories is LUDICROUS.
We are longtime locals and part of the High Street Neighborhood. We are responsible
homeowners who, since owning our homes, have poured our hearts, time and energy into
rebuilding the beautiful historic homes the TOT represents as images on your website.
For Anna (mayor) and other town staff to consider another project that stands above all of the
other historic buildings, giving concessions etc. Meanwhile local homeowners who are
committed to living, recreating and helping the town of Truckee thrive seem to be put through
the wringer on every little home project. windows, driveways, etc....
We are pleading with all of you to step back, take a breath and reassess what is good for this
community.
We all know we are in a crisis. Taglines like: 'affordable housing' , 'workforce housing' etc are
clouding the true intentions of the DEVELOPERS who are working to only make a buck off this
town. Anna (Mayor) and fellow town staff, this is your legacy. Make the right choice. Has the
Railyard development proved to be a good use case to house our local workforce?
In closing, as I send this to you, we are sitting with our neighbors. We are enjoying a nice
evening together as a community. We plead that you help us keep Truckee a family oriented
and friendly location we can all enjoy for years to come. This is a major topic of our discussion
tonight.
Warm regards,
Shari Polovneff
