Dear Council Member Anna Klovstad,
I support the goals and objec ves of MAP for the Truckee 2040 General Plan. It is extremely disappoin ng to me as a
long me Truckee resident and founder of this town that a er par cipa ng in all the workshops, not any of my views and
objec ves were listened to.
Each me I talked to a town represena ve I asked that all projects that are currently approved but not built be included in
the current plan so we could look at all projects both current and future and all of them go through a comprehensive EIR.
I believe there are 6 major projects. We need a tradi onal EIR plan with accountability built into it. A self mi ga ng EIR is
not accepable.
The 2040 plan in my opinion does show how our infrastructure such as traffic, parking, and safety will support the
projected growth in the new plan, nor what will be needed once the immense projected regional growth comes to
frui on. What are we doing to our future genera ons?
There is not adequate support in the plan for the homeless, disadvantaged, and Seniors. I saw no men on of the approx.
1,000 grow houses and 1,600 short term rentals that are currently in our neighborhoods. These two issues must be
addressed. Is there a plan to move the grow houses along with the businesses on West River Street to more appropriate
areas? What is the plan for short term rentals? 2,600 houses are being used for financial objec ves that could be used by
families and support a healthy and produc ve quality of life.
Please do not accept the 2040 plan without the amendments requested by MAP and please think about the issues I have
expressed. It is more important for future genera ons that whatever me is needed to get everyone on board and proud
of this plan is worth it.
