This comment concerns the council's decision to postpone final adoption of the 2040 general plan until the May 9th meeting, in order to give community
stakeholders more time to propose minor changes. I hope these comments will be considered as part of those changes.
I applaud the town for including light pollution in the general plan, but am skeptical of real -world actions in this regard. CC 2.3 requires removal of non-
compliant light fixtures, and states that this is a holdover from the 2025 general plan. Over the past few years, several of my neighbors have contacted
the code compliance department regarding large outdoor lighting displays installed by new transplant households, yet no action has taken place. If this
is a stated (and continued) policy, how will it be enforced? I would suggest specific actions be added (ie monthly nighttime neighborhood drive-throughs,
requiring proof of removal to the compliance officer), so that this is not just meaningless language, as it seems to be currently.
