I want to acknowledge everyone in the Planning Dept. leadership, staff, Planning Commission, and Town Council
that has worked diligently over the last 5 years to bring the 2040 GP to where it currently is. I know it’s required a
lot of time and very hard work. While no document will ever be perfect it appears to have satisfied and addressed
the majority of the future needs and requirements in order for Truckee to continue to evolve, as much as practicable,
into a harmonious and healthy place to call home into the future for generations to come. I think the input from the
community in all its various forms has been part of an organic process in resolving some of the challenges the Town
Council has been confronted with, I’m deeply appreciative for that. Not withstanding the understandable need to
preserve the current EIR as exists, I do support the inclusion an insertion of the recommended language that MAP
has proposed into GP 2040 assuming it doesn’t trigger delays which would force the TC to revert to and rely on a
now outdated GP 2000.
