HomeMy Public PortalAboutCarrie Haines - Resignation Email (mid-term)Dear Truckee Arts Commissioners,
I am writing to you to submit my resignation as Performing Arts Commissioner. With the end of the
Covid crisis, the flood gates have opened for theatre groups. This is a wonderful thing, but the theatre
company is now taking up more of my time than I had anticipated. I am sadly unable to give this role my
full attention and I believe it deserves someone who can be more dedicated to it. Unfortunately, the
scheduled meetings fall on days when our projects are almost always in rehearsal.
Please reach out to me if you ever need someone to consult on a performing arts related project. I am
happy to lend a hand.
Kind Regards,
Carrie Haines

Hi Becky
Thank you for reaching out. This year has been crazy and the insane winter we just had did not help our
cause. With TCT up and running at full speed, my time is sadly far too limited to give 100% of myself to
this council. I am planning to attend the 6th and I’m happy to make an announcement at that time that
I will be stepping down. I do not know anyone else who has applied for this position. It would be nice to
have someone from our performing arts community participate.
So far most of the discussion has been about fine art and commissioned projects. If/when anything
comes up that pertains to performing arts and you wish to have someone come discuss it, I would be
more than happy to help out.
Let me know what you need from me.
Carrie

Hi Carrie,
I think our schedules are both pretty busy right now so it has been hard to connect but I
wanted to touch base with you about the PACT. Sounds like you are able to make the
June 6 meeting but will be stepping down after that. Would you like to make an
announcement during the next meeting under Public Comment?

Our process for filling the vacancy will be to review applications and then make a
recommendation to Council. We may be able to pull from the pool of applicants for the
“member at large” seat.
I do want to thank you for your participation in the PACT. Your input has been valuable,
but I also understand that the time commitment does not work well with your schedule.
Feel free to call me if you would like to chat about it.
