SUMMARY STATEMENT:
There is funding available for hazardous fuel reduction on non-federal lands. One area of public/City concern is the city property north
of the airport, which is adjacent to private homes. The proposed project would allow for selective cutting and slash removal on about 25 acres, to include some of the McCall Cemetery.
The project has received the support of the Airport Manager, City Arborist, Tree Committee, Public Works Director, City Manager, Valley County, Cemetery District, Southern Idaho Timber
Protection Agency, Idaho Department of Lands, and the McCall Fire District. The project would take place in the spring of 2004.
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Approve the submission of the
Hazardous Fuels Reduction Grant, and authorize the Mayor to sign.
