A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD
AUTHORIZING THE RELEASE OF A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL FOR THE
PROVISION OF TRANSPORTATION SERVICES FOR SENIOR CITIZENS AND THE
DISABLED AND EXTENDING THE CURRENT MONTH-TO-MONTH AGREEMENT
WITH ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES COOPERATIVE, INCORPORATED, DBA
FIESTA TAXI THROUGH MAY 31, 2009
WHEREAS, the City of Lynwood has provided an on-demand Dial-a-Ride
Service for seniors citizens and the handicapped residents for over thirty years; and
WHEREAS, the program changed in 2001 from an in-house operated program to
one that is provided by a private sector contract service provider; and
WHEREAS, on October 21, 2003 the City Council approved an agreement with
Administrative Services Cooperative (ASC), DBA Fiesta Taxi for the provision of on-
demand transportation services for seniors and physically challenged citizens; and
WHEREAS, the term of this agreement was for the five-year period of October
21, 2003 to October 30, 2008; and
WHEREAS, said contract expired on October 30, 2008; and an extension on the
current agreement is needed to continue services until a Request for Proposals process
is completed; and
WHEREAS, the City of Lynwood desires to have qualified firms present
proposals for the opportunity to provide transportation services for the Dial-a-Ride
program, which provide subsidized rides to seniors and the physically challenged
citizens living within the City limits.

; WHEREAS, the City of Lynwood purchasing guidelines require that a formal
' Request For Proposals is issued for purchases in excess of $15,000; and
NOW,THEREFORE, the City of Lynwood does hereby find, order, and resolve as
follows:
Section 1. The City staff is authorized to solicit proposals for contracted
transportation services for the City's Dial-a-Ride program from
qualified firms through a Request for Proposals (RFP).
Section 2. That the agreement is extended for a four-month period ending
May 31, 2009.
Section 3. All other provisions of the original agreement remain in force.
Section 4. This resolution shall become effective immediately upon its
adoption.
