CALL TO ORDER
The October 11, 2010, Council Work Session was convened at 5:33 P.M. by Mayor John
Landwehr.
ATTENDANCE
The following Council Members were present:
Present: Carroll, Griffith, *Medin (arrived at5:45 P.M.), Penfold, Pope, Scrivner,
and Struemph,
Absent: Harvey, Koon and Weber
A quorum was present.
DISCUSSION OF AGENDA ITEMS
Email protocol
City Administrator Steve Rasmussen introduced I.T. Department Director Bill Betts who
made a presentation regarding email protocol and the level of usage of City email by staff
and the public.
*Councilman Ron Medin arrived at 5:45 P.M. during this presentation
Following the presentation, the Council discussed the issue and asked questions. Staff was
asked to put all meetings that the Council attend on the Outlook calendar so that Council
members who receive "invitations" to the meetings will automatically have them on their
calendars as well.
Firemens' Pension Plan / LAGERS
A presentation was made by Assistant Fire Chief Lonnie Brandt regarding the issue of Fire
personnel moving from their current retirement plan into the LAGERS retirement plan.
Following his presentation, questions were asked by the Council, who individually stated
they believe now is the time for the City to move forward on this issue.
