CALL TO ORDER
The October 15, 2010, City Council "Brown Bag" Meeting was convened at 12:04 P.M. by
Mayor John Landwehr.
ATTENDANCE
The following Council Members were present:
Present: Carroll (arrived at 12:13 P.M.), Griffith, Harvey, Koon, Medin, Pope,
Struemph, and Weber
Absent: Penfold and Scrivner
DISCUSSION OF AGENDA ITEMS
2010 -78 (Tattoo ordinance) - City Counselor Nathan Nickolaus distributed a substitute bill
and explained the correction made by the substitute. Discussion was held regarding the
issue of requiring liability insurance by tattoo businesses. Mr. Nickolaus stated he would
draft up another substitute and contact all the tattoo businesses in the City and run the
issue by them for their input.
2010 -72 (left turns at Madison and High) - Councilman Rich Koon stated he may place
this bill on the informal calendar after he contacts Jim Crabtree regarding the issue of
signage.
2010 -64 (Political and religious signs) - City Counselor Nathan Nickolaus stated he is
going to ask the sponsor of this bill to place it on the Informal Calendar until some
educational forums can be held to explain the issue to the public a little better. He stated
some public and recent media comments indicate there is still not a clear understanding of
this issue in general.
