SUMMARY STATEMENT:
The McCall Police Department has the opportunity to apply for funding to purchase technology equipment which would
assist in their police work, especially in the area of obtaining information on the probationary and parole status of offenders, as well as other information important in the area of
drug enforcement. MPD would purchase 10-14 Personal Digital Assistants (PDAs) for use in the field by officers as well as by support staff. Training in use of the devices will be required,
and will be provided by the Network Administrator. Funds would be available July 1, 2003.
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Authorize the submission of an Edward Byrne Memorial grant application;
authorize the Mayor to sign.
