SUMMARY STATEMENT:
The current personnel policy manual contains one item that we must correct immediately, and a second we would like to implement now. The first is a clarification of the alcohol level
listed in appendix three. The typographical error in appendix three reads as follows: “Employees are not to report to work or remain at work while having alcohol concentration of 0.0
or greater.” This should read: “…concentration greater than 0.0.” The second is approval to pay per diem in lieu of reimbursement of expenses. At a recent Council meeting the City
Manager outlined the reasoning behind the per diem change. A revised travel request is attached. We will be adding a more extensive section to the personnel manual on FMLA, at which
time we will seek by resolution adoption of all changes.
RECOMMENDED ACTION: Approve the change in wording in appendix 3 and the implementation of per diem payments using the form
as presented.
