SUMMARY STATEMENT: We will be replacing the copier in the Library with a model that allows patrons to make
their own copies and pay for them with coins, $1 or $5 bills. This change is being made without any additional cost to the Library and the cost of the maintenance contract for the Library
machine is reduced. The City Hall copier will be replaced with a machine that can be added to the computer network within City hall. This change will also include a significant reduction
in the cost of the service contract on the copier. The net cost to the City for copier lease and maintenance will be stay approximately the same because of the anticipated increase
in the number of copies or prints made on the new machine. This change should reduce labor time spent on creation of major print and copy jobs since it will allow multiple copies to
be made double sided, collated and stapled without first printing a document and then taking it to the copier.
RECOMMENDED ACTION: Approve the lease agreements for upgrade to a networked
copier for City Hall and a coin-operated copier for the Library and authorize the Mayor to sign.
