A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD
AUTHORIZING STAFF TO ISSUE A REQUEST FOR BIDS FOR TREE PRUNING
AND MAINTENANCE SERVICES
WHEREAS, the City desires to contract for tree pruning and maintenance
services to enhance the aesthetic appearance of the community and to protect the
health, welfare and safety of its residents; and
WHEREAS, there are approximately 9,500 trees to be maintained in the City;
and
WHEREAS, the objective of a tree trimming contract is to maintain, care and
beautify all City parkway trees and trees located at City facilities and parks; and
WHEREAS, the City's goal is to continue providing the best service to our
residents and reduce the number of incidents of property damage and possible injuries
caused by trees; and
WHEREAS, the current contract for tree trimming services is due to expire on
June 30, 2009; and
WHEREAS, it has been estimated that these services can be provided with an
allocation of $200,000 for a one year contract.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD DOES
HEREBY FIND, PROCLAIM, ORDER AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That the City Council authorizes staff to issue and RFB for tree
trimming services for FY 09/10.
Section 2. That the City Council allocates $200,000 for tree trimming services
for FY 2009/10.
Section 3. That this resolution shall go into effect immediately upon its
adoption.
