Public Orals
We were quite dismayed and saddened to read the answer that was given
Ms. Garcia when she inquired about the health of Mr. Battle. According
to your minutes it was stated that ".....when this was attempted before,
when Vice Chairperson Battle was still in the hospital, it was made very
clear by his wife that his condition would remain a private matter." That
statement nor anything like it was NEVER made to anyone by Mrs. Battle
or anyone in the Battle family.
Deacon Battle is very well known and loved throughout the Lynwood
community as well as many of our United States. As a result, well
meaning friends and relatives throughout our Country visited, called,
wrote, prayed, sent cards, gifts, flowers, etc., in an unending stream until
for a brief while his visits had to be monitored in order for him to build up
his strength to allow him to begin to recover. Most people understood and
respected that he needed to rest in order to heal. I deeply regret if
someone misunderstood our concern for his health and recovery.
Deacon Battle is recovering due to God' s grace. He, the family and I
appreciate your inquiries, prayers and good thoughts. Major strokes heal
in God's time and in God's way as we are reminded every day and we are
so grateful that God is with us as he heals. Please continue to keep him in
your prayers.
MAY GOD'S PEACE BE WITH YOU ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!
