SUMMARY STATEMENT:
The Council requested the City Manager meet with the Local Option Tax Committee and solicit additional input
on this issue. The Committee voted unanimously to request the Council seek public input on the following structure of Local Option Taxes:
1% General Sales Tax
2% Occupancy Tax
Dedicated to:
1) Transportation Projects
2) Parks and Recreation Projects
3) City Beautification
4) Marketing for Tourism and Business Development
5) Administrative and Maintenance Cost of the
Tax and above
projects
The public input would be in the form of a survey and article in the City Newsletter followed by public meetings on the issue. The Committee would continue to operate as a
“sounding board” but the McCall Chamber of Commerce would act as primary partner with the city in this project.
RECOMMENDED
ACTION: Motion to direct City Manager to work with Chamber on this project.
