Police Personnel Board
Minutes-December 2, 2021
12:00 p.m.
The meeting was called to order at 12:04 p.m.
Fourteen persons were present as follows

Approval of October 14, 2021 minutes
Moved by Klindt; seconded by Backes that the minutes from the October 14, 2021 Board Meeting be approved.
Motion carried.
Old Business
Lt. Stiefermann provided an update on current Police Officer, Communications Operator and Animal Control
vacancies. The department currently has 11 Police Officer openings. There are 3 recruits in the current LETI
class. One of the recruits, Elisa McMahon, will graduate at the top of the class and will speak at graduation.
Graduation is scheduled for 9:00A, December 17, 2021. There are 2 Communications Operator vacancies. The
Animal Control Manager and 2 Animal Control Officer positions are open. There is 1 vacancy for a Police
Information Clerk.
New Business
Lt. Stiefermann stated that advertising for Police Officers and Communications Operators has been open since
September and will close December 27, 2021. Advertising will open again on December 28, 2021. Testing for
Police Officers and Communications Operators is scheduled for January 13, 14 and 15, 2022. The department
has 2 recruits scheduled for LETI class that starts on January 3, 2022. The next LETI starts in May 2022. There
are 3 officers currently in field training.

Sarah Trittler, H.R., presented information regarding Police Officer test options. The department currently uses
material from IPMA. Discussion was had regarding the costs, content and use of the same testing service by
both the Police Department and the Fire Department. It was decided to continue with IPMA with discussion of
other options to be held in the future.
Chief Schroeder advised the Board that he is considering financial incentives, such as signing bonuses, for
applicants and has had discussions with the City Manager regarding this.

Motion by Backes, second by DuPuis for the Police Personnel Board to go into closed session at 12:40 p.m.
pursuant to RSMo.610.021 of the revised Statutes of Missouri; the motion passed.

Motion by Klindt, second by Backes for the Police Personnel Board to come out of closed session at 12:50 p.m.
pursuant to RSMo.610.021 of the revised Statutes of Missouri; the motion passed.
